The Lords Love
Jesus
says “What man among you, if has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them does
not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost
until he finds it? When he has found
it, he lays it on his shoulders rejoicing. And
when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to
them, REJOICE WITH ME, for I have found my sheep which was lost! I
tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner
who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”
Greater
is the love of God than all our sin. The Lord is faithful to forgive us of all
our sins; we tend to loose sight of this when we fall. Sometimes we even fail to
believe that He is able to forgive us again and again. In Matthew 18:21 it says “Then Peter came and said to Him “Lord, how often shall my brother
sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus
said to him “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times
seven.””
We can
never do enough to earn His love or even deserve His love. His love is automatic
no matter what we decide to do or how we choose to live. When we accept Him into
our hearts, it’s only because He loved us long before we ever made that
decision. Salvation is a gift from the only one true God, the blood of Christ
has set us free from all our sin; past, present and all the sin in our future.
None of this is because we deserve it, only because He loves us.
We need
to remember that He is what makes us a Christian man or woman. Not how often we
go to church or how often we pray. He alone is Holy and righteous! Whether
you’re a Pastor, Elder, Deacon, a brand new Christian, or have not yet even
come to know the Lord personally, His love will never end for any of us.
A word of encouragement, Matthew 11:28-29 says “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” No greater love will we ever find than the one that is offered as a free gift. God bless you and keep you, for we are inscribed in the palm of His hand. Amen!
All in Christ
