But God!

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ….” Ephesians 2:4-5

I did a word study and found that the phrase, “But God”, appears in Scripture at least 61 times depending on which version of the Bible you use. In addition, “But Jesus (who, by the way is also God), appears at least 61 times in Scripture. So the phrase “But God” appears a minimum of 122 times in Scripture. Circle, underline, or highlight in your Bible these two little words “But God”, because they can literally change your perspective on life!

“My marriage is falling apart and is headed for divorce!” But God can resurrect your marriage from the ashes.

“I’ve just gotten a bad report from the doctor.” But God can heal you if He desires.

“My husband is involved in pornography on the Internet.” But God can deliver your husband from the addiction of pornography.

“My brother is a drug addict and has a drinking problem.” But God can give your brother victory over his drug and alcohol addiction.

“I just lost my job and now I can’t pay my bills and provide for my family!” But God can give you a better job than the one you just lost.

“My parents don’t believe in Jesus and they’re headed for hell!” But God can do a miraculous work in the heart of your parents and can draw them to Him.

“My son has walked away from the Lord and is living in habitual sin.” But God can open His arms and bring that prodigal back to Him.

“I can’t forgive my father for what he did to me.” But God can give you a heart of forgiveness and can take away your bitterness and anger.

I don’t pretend to know what you’re going through in your life right now. But God knows, and He loves you, and He wants a relationship with you. He’s not mad at you, He’s mad about you! Won’t you open your heart to Him right now. God bless you!
